2025 Summer Taxes are Payable July 1, 2025 Through September 15, 2025.
If Summer Taxes are paid between September 16, 2025 and September 30, 2025, add 1% interest of the balance owed to the payment.
If taxes are paid after September 30, 2025, add an additional 1% interest of the balance owed to the payment each month .
Summer Tax Deferral
The law provides that beginning September 16, 2025, 1% interest be paid. However, these taxes may be deferred without interest until February 17, 2026 for any taxpayer who is a senior citizen 62 years or older, totally or permanently disabled, or otherwise eligible whose household income does not exceed $40,000 per year. Applications for deferment are available at the Treasurer’s Office and must be returned to our office by September 15, 2025. View/print the Application For Deferment of Summer Taxes
2025 Winter Taxes are Payable December 1, 2025 Through February 17, 2026. If taxes are paid between February 18, 2026 and March 2, 2026, include 3% Penalty.
Beginning March 3, 2026, unpaid taxes can no longer be paid at the Township offices and must be paid directly to the Oakland County Treasurer, 1200 North Telegraph, Pontiac, Michigan 48341 with additional penalties. During the month of March, a revised statement from the Township Treasurer must accompany your remittance to the County Treasurer. After March 31, 2026, contact the Oakland County Treasurer directly for the amount due.

Registration is free to Brandon Township property owners.
View paid/unpaid taxes, payment dates, and assessed/taxable values. This information can be printed and used for income tax filing.
Once payments are received in our office, please allow 5 business days for information to be posted online.
Property Tax Payments
If your taxes are not included in your house payment, you can pay them by mail, in person at the Township offices.
For your convenience, the drop box located on the east side of our building.
Personal Checks, Certified Checks, or Money Orders are encouraged.
Partial payments are accepted throughout the tax season.
The Township does accept credit/debit card payments. You can also pay taxes online with a debit/credit card or with an eCheck. Visit www.oakgov.com and scroll down to the link to PAY TAXES.
Taxes may also be paid by using your bank’s online bill pay, you must include the Parcel ID as the Account Number. The Township Address is:

Taxes Paid by Mortgage Company
Taxpayers with a mortgage company will not receive a copy of their tax statement. If a Taxpayer wishes a copy of their Tax Statement, they may come into the Treasurers Office and pick one up, FREE OF CHARGE. A copy will be sent to their mortgage company. If your mortgage company has recently changed, please have them send the Treasurer’s Office a written request as to where the tax statement should be sent. REMEMBER, FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX STATEMENT DOES NOT EXEMPT THE PROPERTY OWNER FROM PENALTIES IF THE PROPERTY TAX BECOMES DELINQUENT.

Property tax information is available on the Oakland County 24 Hour Tax Hotline by dialing 248-858-0025 or toll free 888-600-3773. To access tax information you will need to know your 10-digit parcel ID number. There is no charge for this.
Summer Tax Bills are mailed for delivery on July 1 of each year.
Winter Tax Bills are mailed for delivery on December 1 of each year.

Personal Property Tax
The Assessment Date for Personal Property Tax is December 31, 2024. If you were in business as of December 31, 2024, you are responsible for the 2025 Summer and Winter Taxes

Change of Ownership
REPORT CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP PROMPTLY. FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX STATEMENT DOES NOT EXEMPT THE PROPERTY OWNER FROM PENALTIES WHEN TAXES BECOME DELINQUENT. CHECK YOUR PARCEL I.D. WITH YOUR DEED OR LAND CONTRACT. IF YOU PAY ON THE WRONG PROPERTY, THE LAW HOLDS YOU FULLY RESPONSIBLE.
