To provide the highest level of life safety and property protection through fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue, public fire and medical education, hazardous material incident mitigation, emergency medical services and other hazardous conditions as requested.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A FIREFIGHTER OR EMT?

The Brandon Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Paid-on-Call Firefighters, Basic EMT, and Paramedics.

This part time position responds to alarms and requests for service, acts in emergencies such as storms, medical emergencies, extinguishment of fires, and performs service work as directed. You will work under the supervision of the Fire Chief and/or their designee.

Employment applications are available at Brandon Fire Station #1, 53 South St., Ortonville, MI 48462.  Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful passing of an interview with fire department personnel, physical exam, drug screen, and background investigation.

To be eligible, must be a U.S. Citizen, applicants must have a High School Diploma, be at least 18 years of age, live within four miles of the Brandon Township Boarder, have no criminal record, successfully pass a physical agility test, clean driving record, and no prior felony convictions.

Michigan Fire Fighter I&II and Basic EMT are highly preferred, however, all individuals meeting the minimum qualifications as described above will be considered. Once hired non certified applicants will receive required Firefighter and Basic EMT training.
