2023 Dog Licenses Available December 1, 2022

The 2023 Oakland County Dog Licenses are available at the Township Treasurer’s Office.  Dogs are now required to be licensed at four (4) months of age. Verification of rabies vaccination and sterilization papers must presented at the time of purchase. You must renew licenses by June 1st. Beginning June 2, the cost will be $40.00 (Exceptions are newly acquired dogs or new residents to the County with a 30 day grace period.)

2024 Dog tags go on sale December 1, 2023.  All dogs must be licensed by June 1st of each year.  Oakland County Animal Control will be visiting door to door in various communities this year to monitor license compliance.

Important Additional Information

You will need proof of a valid rabies vaccination to purchase the license. You will need proof of your dog being spayed/neutered if you wish to receive the lower fee. You may purchase the license at either the Township Offices (the Treasurer’s Department) or at: Oakland County Animal Control, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Building #42E, Pontiac, Michigan 48326. Dog licenses are required by the State of Michigan in accordance with Michigan Act 339 of 1919 (commonly known as the dog law). If your dog has already been previously registered, the county may send you a reminder post card regarding dog license renewal.
