May 29, 2017

Memorial Day in Brandon Township is celebrated with a military parade

beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Old Town Hall, 486 Mill St. and ending at the

Ortonville Cemetery, 175 N. Ortonville Rd.

There is a short ceremony at the Veterans Memorial and the

Avenue of Flags will be on display.

The Avenue of Flags is a very impressive display

of over 600 full size American Flags flown in honor of

specific Veterans.  It is a beautiful site and shouldn't be missed!

Community Development Block Grant Program

This federally funded program allocates a set amount of funding to Brandon Township each year.  The township uses these funds to benefit low to moderate-income families, to take part in the historic restoration of the Old Mill, for park improvements, and renovation to the Edna Burton Senior Center.

Organizations such as Lighthouse, Haven, Ortonville Community Emergency Fund, the Oakland-Livingston Health Service Agency and the Brandon Groveland Youth Assistance have been given funds to help our residents when needs arise.

Public hearings are held each fall to receive input on how the funding should be allocated with the final decision resting with the Township Board.  For more information, please contact the Clerk's office at 248-627-2851
